Prepare (July 17, 2016)

This blog gives you a glimpse into the upcoming Sunday Gathering. It's an opportunity to read through the passage we'll be studying together, pray through some of the liturgy we'll be using, and listen to a selection of the songs we’ll be singing.

Serve The City

SERMON

This is one of our Serve The City weekends and our our Gathering is based on the gospel rhythm of service. We'll be hearing about some different organisations that seek to serve Leeds and also about what Redeemer has been doing this weekend to serve the local communities. The sermon this week will be from Mark 10:35-45. Gary Aston will be looking at what Jesus says to us about serving!

LITURGY

CALL TO WORSHIP

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.

The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

(Based on Psalm 145:9-18)

MUSIC

  • Saviour of the World (Ben Cantelon): A song of praise about Jesus, our great Saviour, who gave his life for us, the lost and broken in this world.

  • How Deep the Father's Love For Us: A reflection on the depth of  God’s love which was shown to us in the cross of Christ.
