This blog gives you a glimpse into the upcoming Sunday Gathering. It's an opportunity to read through the passage we'll be studying together, pray through some of the liturgy we'll be using, and listen to a selection of the songs we’ll be singing.
EXODUS - The Lord's Name in Vain
SERMON
As Exodus is a big book we won’t read all of the Bible text in our Sunday gathering. Each week we will give you the full section of Exodus here on the blog for you to read in your own time. This is a great way to prepare your heart to hear from God’s word on a Sunday. We'll be slowing down a little now and taking a week to look at each of the 10 commandments. This week Tom Thrower will be preaching to us on the third commandment found in Exodus 20:7.
LITURGY
CALL TO WORSHIP
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. Blessed be his glorious name for ever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory!
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
May his name endure for ever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed!
(Proverbs 18:10, Psalm 72:17-19)
MUSIC
10,000 Reasons (Matt Redman): A song directing our hearts to God, reminding us of the endless reasons we have to offer all of our praise and worship to Him.
- Man of Sorrows (Hillsong): A glorious reminder of the Saviour we worship, the salvation we can know in Him and the sacrifice he paid for us on the cross.
