MICAH 2
CALL TO WORSHIP
O LORD, we give our lives to you. We trust in you, our God!
Show us the right path, O LORD; point out the road for us to follow.
Lead us by your truth and teach us, for you are the God who saves.
All day long, help us to put our hope in you. Amen.
(Psalm 25:1,4-5)

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
We've already heard that God's word can be trusted. In the Psalms God tells us that his word is life-giving and those who walk according to it are blessed. The truth is though, that so often we don't see it this way. So often, we don't really believe that it's life giving and we are quick to deny and suppress the truth it presents us with. His word tells us that if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins. This is why each week we take a moment to confess our sin to God. So take a moment to reflect on that now, to confess to God the way you might neglect his word, or fail to let it speak into your life. Without God we have no hope of change so let's pray these words together now, asking that God would help us in this:
Teach us, LORD, the way of your decrees that we may follow it to the end. Direct us in the path of your commands that we would delight in them.
Turn our hearts towards your statutes and not towards selfish gain. Turn our eyes away from worthless things, to you, the one who brings life according to your word.
(Psalm 119:33-37)

PREACHING OF THE WORD

COMMUNION
Every week we want to respond to what God has done for us in Jesus. One of the great ways he has provided for us to remember the truth of the gospel is giving us communion. As we take the bread and wine we remember what Jesus has done for us.
POST COMMUNION READING
Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.
We rejoice that You have died, rose again, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.
With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us.
We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.

COMMITMENT READING
Father God, thank you that though we were once far from you, through the blood of Jesus you have brought us near. Give us strength to continually look to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.
By your Spirit’s work in our hearts, give us the faith and courage to hold onto the gospel above all else.
Help us when this is hard and we are tempted to deny you and your gospel.
May we go from this gathering and boldly live out our mission to proclaim Jesus as saviour, redeemer and king. Amen.
