Prepare (October 16, 2016)

This blog gives you a glimpse into the upcoming Sunday Gathering. It's an opportunity to read through the passage we'll be studying together, pray through some of the liturgy we'll be using, and listen to a selection of the songs we’ll be singing.

ENCOUNTERS - Death

SERMON

This week Gary Aston will be preaching the final sermon in our ENCOUNTERS series, which is all about meeting the real Jesus. He'll be showing us the authority Jesus has over death in the final encounter with the dying girl in Mark 5:21-43.

LITURGY

COMMITMENT READING

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

(Colossians 3:1-4, Philippians 3:20)

MUSIC

  • Come Praise and Glorify our God (Sovereign Grace): A call to praise and glorify the God who has shown His grace to us in Christ.

  • New Again (Sojourn Music): A song looking forward to the future hope we have in the gospel. We look to the day when all pain and sorrow will be over and Christ will make all things new again!
