Prepare (February 9, 2020)

This blog gives you a glimpse into the upcoming Sunday Gathering. It's an opportunity to read through the passage we'll be studying together, pray through some of the liturgy we'll be using, and listen to a selection of the songs we’ll be singing.

CHURCH PLANTING: Planting & change.

SERMON

Alex Passmore will be preaching from God’s word to us with the last in our series on church planting.

LITURGY

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

As frail people we are often quick to forget God's faithfulness to us.
We get so overwhelmed with our current circumstances that we begin to doubt God and his goodness to us.
Every week at this point in our gathering we take time to confess our sin before God.
This time for confession reminds us of our right place before God, our sinfulness, our need for God's grace and forgiveness and God's provision of this grace through Jesus.

Right at the centre of the gospel is confession, repentance. And as we repent, we turn from moving away from God & instead we run to him
We experience God moving towards us in grace. Let's pray these words together now as we confess to God:

Heavenly Father, we confess that we are quick to lose hope in the midst of difficult situations and quick to get frustrated with difficult people. Remind us that you are not slow to fulfil your promises to us but are patient towards us. Help us, therefore, by your Spirit, to be patient with one another and bear with one another in love. Amen.

(based on 2 Peter 3:8-9, Ephesians 4:2)

MUSIC

Come Thou Fount: A song of  praise of the God who brings our wandering hearts back to himself.

Jesus is the Lord of All (Olly Knight): A glorious reminder that Jesus reigns over all.  He is King of kings and Lord of lords.
